About Video Pictures
It was not until portable cameras became capable of capturing video that this body of work could be created. Boorstein said that even with a small, easily operated camera (which he always carried) the intended subject often vanished before he could get the camera out.
The majority of the VPs were shot with ten different cameras. Beginning in 2007 they ranged from fairly early digital point and shoots to small video cameras, one mid-sized camera, modern point and shoots and after 2016, an iPhone.
Many VPs are hand held. The lens is usually extended – never wide angle.
The VPs are sorted into the six main categories and further grouped into sub-categories based on the strongest visual element.
Each VP is given a chronological number within its sub-category. Each Video Picture includes an introductory time note, a selected first and last frame and an end credit.
